Our no-commissions pledge.

We are paid by the owner, and only by the owner. That is the simplest way we know to make sure our advice is about the yacht and nothing else.

What we pledge

  1. No commissions, referral fees or rebates from shipyards, contractors, suppliers, equipment makers, software vendors, insurers, crew agencies or brokers. Not in cash, not in kind, not as “marketing support”.
  2. No brokerage or charter arm. We do not sell yachts or charters, so our advice on refits, budgets, sales or charter is never influenced by a deal.
  3. Pass-through costs at cost. Anything we buy on the owner’s behalf is invoiced at the price we paid, with the supplier’s invoice attached.
  4. Competitive quotes. For significant purchases and contracts we obtain alternative quotes where practical, and show you all of them.
  5. No fees to seafarers. We never charge crew for registration, recruitment or placement.
  6. No referral payments to crew. We do not pay captains or crew for introducing a yacht to us. Recommendations should be made on merit.
  7. Declared conflicts. We keep a written conflict register. If any relationship could affect our advice, we tell you in writing before we act.
  8. In the contract. This pledge is written into every management and consultancy agreement we sign, so you can enforce it.

Why it matters

Owners spend large sums through their manager every year: on yards, spares, contractors and software. When a manager earns from those suppliers as well as from the owner, the owner can never be sure which interest a recommendation serves. We would rather earn a clear fee and keep our advice clean.

If you ever have reason to believe we have broken this pledge, email [email protected] and a partner will respond personally.

Tell us about your yacht.

Share the basics and we will come back with a scoped, fixed-price proposal. Every enquiry is treated in confidence.
